BWET Celebrity Spotlight | Chord OverstreetYou’ve seen him shirtless in the shower on Glee, and no doubt he has the lean, chiseled perfectly athletic look going, complete with the whole “shrink-wrap” abs.  But is Chord Overstreet’s gym-based workout over-kill?  Let’s look at what he claims to do in an interview with Vanity Fair Magazine…

VF:  Do you have a rather intense routine, or do you just do a lot of choreographed dancing, jazzercise and the like?

Overstreet: Well, I do like two or three hors at a time in the gym.  I was there last night.  I just did chest and and and triceps.  Flat bench for two sets of 100 reps each on a light weight, the fifteen reps of four sets really heavy weight.  Then I did my push ups.  Then I did this thing with pulleys and the weights attached, which is like an exercise for your chest.  Then running then an hour of abs.

VF:  An hour of abs?!

Overstreet: You got to look good for the ladies.  And for all those guys who want to see your body.  If I’m going to be on national TV without my shirt on, I’ve got to look good.

Wow!  Talk about a gross waste of time.  It looks like Chord is pissing away time in the gym when he could be learning lines.  An hour of abs?  No way.  Mr. Overstreet definitely needs to subscribe to our Blogcast and get some better workout information.

this thing with pulleys and the weights attached” – Come on, man.  You don’t even know the name of the equipment you are using.  You’re headed for an injury of epic proportions.  I truly hope you (or the studio) isn’t paying top dollar for a personal trainer to leave you that uneducated.

    Great post. Building a lean athletic body comes from balanced exercise and bodyweight exercises are key for this.
