Stolen Workouts and Imitate Success Not FailureSo, here I am bored with my current  bodyweight workout and looking for something very fast, exciting, challenging, and best of all, someone Else’s idea.  My brain is fried and I just don’t feel like picking out any exercises today.  Then I remembered the guy who got me started in bodyweight exercise to begin with.  Good Old Craig Ballantyne.  A wearer of clothing with Maple Leaves, and owner of at least one entirely denim outfit, Craig hails from the great Northern expanses of Canada.  So in this workout, you have to stop and say a loud and proud, “Eh!” between each circuit, eh.

Let’s get started.  Seriously, this quick workout is stolen from my copy of Craig’s program so don’t go emailing him to tell him that Janos gave away one of his workouts.

The “20 Minute On-The-Go Traveler’s Full Body Routine” Using only Bodyweight Exercises:

The 20-Minute Do-Anywhere Workout
1) Wall Squat (8 reps)
2) Kneeling Elevated Pushup (5 reps per side)
3) Lying 1-leg Hip Extension (8 reps per side)
4) Plank (30 second hold)
5) Jumping Jacks (5-10 reps)
6) Side Plank (15 second hold per side)

Repeat 3 more times and you are done in 20 minutes.
Perfect for the Hotel room, no good for the airplane aisle.

That’s it.  Quick and dirty.  Nothing fancy, eh,  just effective.  So, go steal your workout and get your fit on, eh.  When you finish, eh, drink a Molson, eh.

I love to kid with my Canadian friends, especially about the whole “eh” thing.  But in all seriousness, Craig and his program are definite winners.  There are other really good bodyweight programs out there, but for sure, if you’re a beginner, or even a seasoned athlete, but just realizing the true value of bodyweight exercise, the it would serve you well to check him out.  Heck, he even has all those funny letters after his name…
